4 Ss for Success
Setting out to start a career can sometimes be a daunting and frightening experience, and not everyone knows what steps to take to make sure that their journey is successful. While there are multiple factors to setting and achieving successful goals there are 4 that guarantee your steps are headed in the right direction.
Spirit
Have faith in yourself! Nothing great is accomplished without having belief in your own ability. Failure is a given in any endeavor that challenges your growth and stretches the limits of your possibilities. There is no great reward without great risk, and the ability to recover from failure is growth! Having that innate sense that you are meant to succeed despite any setbacks is your inner character or spirit. Make sure that you nurture progress, resilience, integrity, and faith. Stay steadfast in the spirit of success and failure will not even be an option.
Smarts
The saying “Knowledge is Power” is a very true statement when you recognize that the most successful people in history didn’t become successful based on pure luck. Successful people study, prepare, learn from the wisdom of others, and utilize resources effectively. Knowing and understanding your goals and the obstacles ahead of them takes time and the action of actively engaging in learning all the ins and outs of what it will take in order for you to achieve your goal. Know what you want, know what it will take to accomplish your goal, know yourself; and know what you need to overcome in order to become successful. Stay smart about what you are trying to achieve, make sure that it’s realistic and right for the person that you are and you are guaranteed a win every time!
Sass
Studies have shown that sarcasm can trigger creativity because people have to think creatively in order to understand it. Sarcasm has also been known to be a wildly attractive quality in a person because research has also shown that the more intelligent you are the more likely you are to use sarcasm. Intelligence in a mate is high on the list of characteristics people look for, so people are often stimulated by sarcasm when engaging in a conversation with someone as long as the sarcasm is seen in a positive and playful manner rather than offensive or demeaning. Being a bit sassy in a positive and playful way when networking can stimulate an active and friendly conversation leading to new contacts or business partners.
Smiles
Smiling is known to be the most powerful human gesture because it stimulates positive energy, promotes good health, and is contagious. The definition of success is to achieve a desired goal and is often measured by your sense of accomplishment, fulfillment, and happiness. The fact that you can smile freely already implies that you are a successful person because people smile when they’re happy. If you haven’t yet accomplished your goal but can manage to smile anyway you are already well on your way because your positive attitude and energy attracts the same positivity in others, and when surrounded by positivity success is surely at hand. So smile and open the doors to success by attracting it right to you!
